Transform Destructive Emotions and Thought Patterns
Through Movement, Meditation, and Wisdom rooted in Indian and Tibetan Yoga

Yatri- Yoga for Emotional Healing™ begins with understanding how our thought patterns and emotions affect our mental and physical well-being.  Through Yatri, we move through kleshas, a Sanskrit word meaning “mind poisons.” Antidotes for anger, anxiety, attachment, depression, loneliness and fear are taught through practices rooted in Indian and Tibetan Yoga.

Yatri is a holistic program based on 12 foundational principles, which are practiced together to experience a peace that is lasting and a happiness that is stable and sustainable. The foundations include wisdom, motivation, personal responsibility, tribe,  accountability, thoughts, communication, movement, meditation, nutrition and art.  www.yatriyoga.com.

In this three-day training, expect creative sequencing inspired by yoga asana and Indian dance, transformative meditations rooted in Tibetan and Indian Yoga, communication exercises blending modern psychotherapies and eastern philosophy, and teachings focused on conquering kleshas.

Reema Datta is an Indian-American teacher, speaker, humanitarian, author and musician who has dedicated her life to offering yoga as a holistic practice leading to healing and lasting peace.

Reema first learned yoga philosophy from her grandfather, ayurvedic cooking from her grandmother, and sacred song and mantra from her mother. Her teachers include the Dalai Lama, Sri Pattabhi Jois, Ma Daya Vyas, Sri Dharma Mittra, and direct disciples of Mahatma Gandhi. Reema has taught alongside Danny Paradise, Ana Forrest, David Swenson, David Williams and Larry Schultz.

At the age of 24, Reema had finished her undergraduate degree at Vassar College and completed her Masters degree at the London School of Economics.  Immediately following, 9/11 occurred in NYC.  Overnight, the trajectory of her path shifted towards what she had been taught her entire life: YOGA and its deep capacity to heal.

In 2002, Reema received her teacher training certification in Ashtanga yoga.  In 2005, she founded the Usha Yoga Foundation to bring Eastern teachings and practices to marginalized communities in India, Africa, the UK and the U.S.  In 2008, Reema received her certificate as an Ayurvedic Therapist from the Indus Valley Ayurvedic Center in Mysore, India.  Yoga International coined Datta as “the Yoga Ambassador” in 2009.  She completed a teacher training in classical Tibetan Yoga in 2010.

Reema's students range from singer songwriter Sting, Edie Brickel, Paul Simon, Grace Highwater, Zainab Salbi and the Princess of Rajasthan.  She has served as a guest lecturer and teacher at wellness centers throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. Reema has collaborated with musicians such as Manose Singh, Ronu Majumdar and Krishna Das.
