Julia Suklevski

Julia Suklevski remains humbled by her yoga practice and is a firm believer that yoga can empower anyone to achieve transformation in all aspects of life. Having practiced yoga since high school to feel confident and discover inner strength, she realized that one could find a sense of grounding and peace when faced with life’s hurdles by cultivating awareness of mind and body. She pursued her yoga teacher training through Yoga to the People, and saw a connection between holding space for students in the studio and being an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in her service as a rape crisis counselor at NYC hospital and community programs. Julia connected with Exhale to Inhale while a graduate student pursuing her Master of Science in Social Work degree from Columbia University. She is currently a Licensed Master Social Worker on working with individuals with various mental health issues in psychiatric hospital setting, and is a therapist in a private practice providing individual therapy using a holistic approach that incorporates one’s strengths and resiliency to overcome challenges they may be facing. Julia aspires to merge the worlds of yoga and clinical practice to address the unique needs of survivors and provide them with the support and guidance on a journey of healing.
