As a leader in the trauma-informed field, Exhale to Inhale trains yoga teachers, healthcare workers, and wellness professionals to create trauma-informed spaces. Exhale to Inhale is proud to offer a Black, Indigenous, People of Color community member rate for all of our trainings.

16-Hour Training
Full-Length


Take a deep dive into learning about the effect of trauma on the mind and body with our full-length training. You will gain tangible trauma-informed yoga resources and learn how to customize your sessions to be more sensitive to those who have experienced trauma and inclusive to all communities. Yoga Teachers with a 200-hour teaching certification may be eligible to teach for Exhale to Inhale once they complete the 16-hour training. Exhale to Inhale offers both virtual and in-person training throughout the year.

Interested in learning more about the effect of trauma on the mind & body? Are you a teacher or healthcare professional supporting students or clients who have experienced trauma?

Gain resources and tools you need to support your community and self! This virtual training includes 16 hours of lecture and experiential learning in the science of trauma, trauma theory, and yoga philosophy. You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend. Attendees will gain tangible yoga based trauma-informed resources and learn how to customize yoga and healing sessions to be more sensitive and inclusive to all communities.

Participants will receive a training manual and access to ETI's on-line community for networking, continuing education credits approved by Yoga Alliance, and a certificate of completion.

For all trainings, Exhale to Inhale offers a select number of full scholarship. Scholarships are open to those with a 200 YTT who are interested in incorporating trauma-informed practices into their work. We also offer BIPOC and Community Discount Rate Tickets to remove financial obstacles to learning about this work. Please email training@exhaletoinhale.org with any questions.

BIPOC Community rate: $250 per person

Community Rate: $340 per person

Early Bird Ticket: $440 per person

You + One [Two Tickets]: $680 for two people

General Admission: $499 per person

Please note: This training is solely for professional development and is not intended as an intervention for personal healing. Please keep in mind talking about trauma, even in the context of professional training can be triggering. Before attending the training, we invite you to resource yourself to ensure you have personal support to appropriately engage with this work.

SCHOLARSHIPS


The 2025 scholarship application is open! Scholarships are available for Exhale to Inhale’s scheduled 16-hour trainings. The application deadline for scholarships is rolling and can be applied to any upcoming 16-hour trainings. For our upcoming training on March 22nd and 23rd, applications are due by March 9th.

How to Apply

In order to apply for a scholarship, all applicants must have a 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate in Hatha or Vinyasa style.

Applicants need to provide in their application:

  • 1 reference letter for review

  • 3 responses to short-answer questions

  • Optional demographic information

INTERESTED IN CUSTOM TRAININGS?


Exhale to Inhale regularly provides custom training options to yoga studios, 200-hour YTT, nonprofits, wellness and fitness organizations, and government agencies. These options include 2-hour, 4-hour, and 6-hour trauma-informed training modules.

THE BENEFITS OF ADDING TRAUMA-INFORMED YOGA TO YOUR WORK

By attending one of our trainings, you will gain a tangible, trauma-informed yoga education and learn how to adapt your sessions for those who have experienced trauma. Join us and develop the skills and knowledge needed to create more inclusive spaces within your community. Trainings are open to everyone and you do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each training includes lecture, group discussion, and embodied-practice. Our curriculum covers the body’s response to trauma including the nervous system. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how being trauma-informed as a yoga practitioner or wellness professional can promote long-term healing for clients who have experienced trauma.

TEACHING WITH EXHALE TO INHALE


In order to teach with Exhale to Inhale, we require all our teachers to complete their 200-hour yoga teacher training certification before taking Exhale to Inhale's 16-hour training.

After attending Exhale to Inhale's training, all scholarship recipients are invited to attend a mentorship session, join our upcoming Community Learning sessions, and serve as a Teaching Assistant at least one training.

Scholarship recipients may be invited to teach for Exhale to Inhale upon the completion of their trauma-informed yoga training and teaching lab.
