Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2024
Each April, survivors and allies come together across the nation to raise awareness through Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This annual, month-long effort raises public awareness about sexual violence and educates communities on how to prevent it.
This year, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center is highlighting how connected communities can support survivors, and at Exhale to Inhale, we will uplift how our community is taking meaningful action to support healing. Join us!
“I come to this work first and foremost as a survivor. After I was assaulted, yoga gathered and held me, and helped me to feel whole again.”
2024 Sexual Assault Awareness Month Chair, Mimi Chiahemen

Launch Event
A heart-centered conversation on building a healing community and how we can all participate. To mark the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we’ brought together a panel of speakers who represent our own healing community at Exhale to Inhale. Moderated by SAAM Chair, Mimi Chiahemen, this event began with an embodied practice, moving into unpacking what it means to heal through community.
As bell hooks writes, "Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion."
